… imagine a puddle waking up one morning and thinking, ‘This is an interesting world I find myself in - an interesting hole i find myself in - fits me rather neatly, doesn’t it? In fact it fits me staggeringly well, must have been made to have me in it!’ This is such a powerful idea that as the sun rises in the sky and as the air heats up and as, gradually, the puddle gets smaller and smaller, it’s still frantically hanging on to the notion that everything’s going to be alright, because this world was meant to have him in it, it was built to have him in it; so the moment he disappears catches him rather by surprise.

Carl Tanzler - Wikipedia

whydoihaveablog:

One evening in April, 1933, Tanzler crept through the cemetery where Hoyos was buried and removed her body from the mausoleum, carting it through the cemetery after dark on a toy wagon, and transporting it to his home. He reportedly said that Elena’s spirit would come to him when he would sit by her grave and serenade her corpse with a favorite Spanish song. He also said that she would often tell him to take her from the grave.[1] Tanzler attached the corpse’s bones together with wire and coat hangers, and fitted the face with glass eyes. As the skin of the corpse decomposed, Tanzler replaced it with silk cloth soaked in wax and plaster of paris. As the hair fell out of the decomposing scalp, Tanzler fashioned a wig from Hoyos’s hair that had been collected by her mother and given to Tanzler not long after her burial in 1931.[3] Tanzler filled the corpse’s abdominal and chest cavity with rags to keep the original form, dressed Hoyos’s remains in stockings, jewelry, and gloves, and kept the body in his bed. Tanzler also used copious amounts of perfume, disinfectants, and preserving agents, to mask the odor and forestall the effects of the corpse’s decomposition.[5]

Avida Dollars

Ha-haw ha ha!  It was a big booming laugh.  It echoed down the hallway and reverberated up the stairs.  It picked up his lanky frame and gave him a good shake, holding him inches above the floor.  It was an explosion that had burst out of him without warning. It was a laugh with mass and volume; oh boy did it have volume!  He couldn’t have swallowed that laugh if he had tried.  But he did try.  Bringing his hand up to his mouth he seemed to catch what was left of that laugh, and he held it to his lips.  Tasteless.  Odorless.  But he could feel it and he knew that his heart was in the substance of that laugh.

Delighted, he clapped his hands, cleared his throat, twirled his mustache, and began assembling his focus once again.  He was putting himself together piece by piece, but he had dropped his paintbrush in his delirious confusion and was now searching for it under the floorboards and behind the papered walls.  He felt with soft fingertips along the tops of the window sills and door frames.  He wasn’t sure if gravity was flowing up or down today.  Some days, down is up and up is so deep down that if you’re underneath, you’re on top.  The paintbrush was behind the closet door this time though he thought it looked larger now that before.

If you are a fan of Dali, you will love this video! He is so endearing in a boyish way and you cannot help but laugh.

If you’re not familiar with What’s My Line? it is a 1950’s television show that has a panel of people try and guess who the guest is by asking yes or no questions. Look it up on YouTube, there are a million celebrities, including political figures, that appear on the show.

i like my body when it is with your
body. It is so quite a new thing.
Muscles better and nerves more.
i like your body. i like what it does,
i like its hows. i like to feel the spine
of your body and its bones, and the trembling
-firm-smooth ness and which i will
again and again and again
kiss, i like kissing this and that of you,
i like, slowly stroking the, shocking fuzz
of your electric fur, and what-is-it comes
over parting flesh … . And eyes big love-crumbs,

and possibly i like the thrill

of under me you so quite new.

Stands for: Doesn’t Ever Leave The Airport.

This girl will never fly Delta Air Lines again!

Take One: Departure.

On my way to New York City last weekend my flight into LaGuardia got canceled. They got me a flight into JFK but only after a three hour delay. Once I boarded the plane they announce one of the seats was broken. We waited 20 minutes for the maintenance man to arrive. We waited as he fixed the seat. We waited as he filled out the paperwork. And then we waited as that paperwork was entered into the computer system and the plan was finally cleared for takeoff.

Take Two: The Return Trip.

Flight is delayed one hour. One hour later… flight is delayed another hour. Still later, we enter through the gate, board a bus and are charted across the tarmac to finally arrive at our plane. The excuse? Maintenance issues. Really, Delta? You have to wait to do upkeep on your planes until they are needed? You cost me hours of precious time and peace of mind. You made me miss plans with friends. And you cost me twice as much in cab fare because JFK is twice as far away from where I needed to be.
